Welcome to Crow-Wood Farm

Since 1946 Crow Wood Farm in Spondon, Derby has been farmed by three generations of the Brown family and has always been involved in livestock and arable production.
In 2004 Sarah, the youngest daughter joined the business with a view to continue the Brown family farming tradition and to expand the business into the retail sector.
Sarah’s vision was and still is to provide the public with the opportunity to purchase meat of the highest quality direct from the farm.
The Butchery
In April 2005 work began renovating a building originally built as the laundry to Locko Park Hall.
Phase 1 involved modernizing the old butchery and bringing it up to the hygiene standards now required.
This was completed in December 2005. Phase 2 involved the building of a retail outlet adjacent to the butchery. This was completed in September 2008.
Opening every Friday and Saturday we offer our high quality Beef, Lamb and Gloucester Old Spot Pork products direct to the public from our farm shop. All our products have been reared on our farm, are fully traceable and kept to the highest standard of animal welfare.
In addition we sell our own recipe dry cured bacon, home cured gammon, sausages and burgers. We also offer locally sourced free range eggs, honey, potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
Hampers of our Beef, Lamb and Gloucester Old Spot Pork are available to order, offering excellent value for money. They are supplied chilled, bagged and butchered to your own individual requirements. Each cut is clearly labelled ready to put straight into your freezer.
Crow-Wood Farm
Today Crow-Wood Farm is a 110 hectare mixed livestock and arable farm. It is home to a flock of sheep, a beef herd, Gloucester Old Spot pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and lama’s.
This year we are growing wheat and maize as cereal crops.
The grassland is used for grazing during the summer months and grown to enable us to mow it for silage as a winter feed for the cattle and sheep.
